![]() ![]() This was our first dinner here and it was a disappointing start. I had seen pics of beautifully prepared dessert plates, and there was none of that here. Maxal: appetizers and desserts were served buffet style. Meal winners: barbacoa at Maxal and sushi at Sunan for my son, the ribs at Sunan, and the steak at Auma were mine If I'm drinking wine from plastic, it better be a red solo cup so that it's funny instead of tragic.) I'm at the point in my life where I don't want to drink wine from a plastic stem glass. I very much appreciated it! It also came in a proper glass (many of the drinks offered came in the wrong class for that drink or plastic). The server suggested the cocktail of the night and it was legit the one and only time that happened. He went out of his way to start the dinner off right, and then even found a way for us to take our pizza with us bce my son was stuffed but knew he's eat it later).ĭrink winner: La Luce. Service winners: Sunan (we had several servers, all great) and La Luce (hands down the friendliest server, but I can't remember his name. Then, the menus were not the same, and meals tended to feel rushed. I would have been really upset if I'd been told there were no spots left for dinner when sit-down high-quality dining options was one of the reasons I chose this resort. Things were not the same as online vids, and I have to believe it's because I came in high season?įirstly, I barely got reservations for the three dinner restaurants (even though we arrived at 1pm!). Before choosing this resort, I had looked at their menus and watched YouTube reviews. (We did later see two kids unable to get their kayak back they had to beach it!)įor the FOODIE part: I love food, and I'm particular about it. We did the entire perimeter of the buoys and there was a moment when I thought my son wasn't going to have the strength to do it. TIP #2: The kayaks are $5 per person, and on the day we did it, it was way harder to get back than it was to go out. I would have been SO bummed if I hadn't known to sign up for the spin class! ![]() TIP #1: You need to sign up for classes! I had no idea, and we missed our plan to do TRX because there wasn't enough room. We also rented kayaks it was a bit of a surprise that it cost money (as you get used to it being all inclusive so you don't carry around your wallet-luckily I had tipping money on me so I didn't have to walk all the way back to the room). I also took the water yoga class, which was easy in a physical sense but rough mentally. My son and I took the HIIT class and the spin class overlooking the beach. ![]() So if you pack as many gym outfits as dinner dresses, always have a plan on how to optimize your time, and appreciate small details in dining experiences, you not only will feel me, you will want these tips.įor the FIT part of this review: David* at the gym was great. Also, I'm pretty particular about things, and I'm one of the weirdos who likes to be active/exercise on vacation. First, a caveat: I'm a single Mom traveling with my only-child son, so we are not the average "family" coming to this resort. ![]()
